Are you having a down day? Or down days? Are you beginning to doubt that God is working in your life and wondering if your faith is amounting to anything at all?
If so, here are 7 verses you need to help you:
1. John 20:29 (NIV) - “Then Jesus told him, ‘Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed’.” It’s easy to believe that God is for us when everything in life looks to be going right. When seeing God’s hand working in your life is harder than finding a needle in a haystack, that’s when you truly need to rely on your faith—not lose it.
2. Mark 9:24 (NIV) - “The father instantly cried out, ‘I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!’” Just like the man whose son was afflicted by a demon, we have often heard that God can do the impossible, yet we are plagued with doubts. Just as the man in Mark pleaded for Jesus to help him overcome his disbelief, we must pray that God would give us a spirit of unwavering confidence in His abilities.
3. Hebrews 11:6 (NIV) - “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” God will show up in your life if you hold firmly to your faith. Believe that He is there, He wants to bless you, and He will use you according to His purpose if you keep your heart open to Him.
4. 1 Chronicles 16:11 (NLT) - “Search for the LORD and for his strength; continually seek him.” Even though the vision you have has not yet come to pass, trust that God is working in your favor. Do not lose faith; rather, look for His light in the dark times, so that His Word and promise may be a comfort unto you.
5. Psalm 42:5 (NIV) - “Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.” Do not get discouraged, put your hope in God. Believe in His Word fully, and praise Him for what He has done already, as well as what He will do in the future.
6. Psalm 119:15-16 (ESV)- “I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways. I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word.” Read your Bible consistently, letting the word of God renew your strength and refresh your faith. The Bible is the greatest reminder of why we believe and it will never lead you astray.
7. 1 John 5:5. (NIV) - “Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.” The world will succeed in bringing you down only if you lose faith in Christ. Cling tightly to the Lord (Deuteronomy 13:4), and you will prosper.
I pray that your faith is restored today. May God lead you back to Him in love, and remind you that He will never leave nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:8), and He is a very present help in trouble (Psalm 55:22).
